Tightening or loosening the crown then controls the grinding coarseness setting. To start the grinding mechanism, turn the top of the grinder clockwise. Clean the grinders with a soft, dry cloth and protect from excessive heat. The P and S logos on the crown make the grinders easy to distinguish from each other.

Salt grinder: the grinding mechanism for salt is designed to grind coarse, dry rock salt, ideally with crystals of 4 mm or less in diameter. This grinder is not designed to grind pepper.
