More than 30 years have passed since the first Paris grinder saw the light of day, a grinder that became the hallmark and flagship of Peugeot for many years. In 2020, Peugeot is launching a unique collection of its iconic spice mills (Paris and Bistro), made from the wood of olive trees. The grinders are treated with a special oil that not only enhances the grain of the wood, but also gives the grinders a soft feel. In short, more than 200 years of tradition of handcrafting original and iconic French spice grinders is evident in the workmanship.

The pepper and salt grinders are made from the wood of olive trees, sustainably grown in Europe. Olive wood has a beautiful grain and a warm yellow-brown colour, the perfect effect is achieved by treating it with a special oil that makes the natural beauty of the wood stand out even more.Paris grinders are always made in the same design for salt or pepper mills, but differ in the grinding mechanism. For easy recognition, they are distinguished from each other by a subtle marking on the grinder crown. The stainless steel grinding mechanism is treated with a patented method for greater resistance to corrosion, wear and for long-lasting sharpness.

The grinders are beautiful to look at and practical to use. After unscrewing the crown and removing the top, the mills are easy to fill. By tightening or loosening the crown you can then adjust the grinding coarseness. To start the grinding mechanism, turn the top of the grinder clockwise.

Pepper grinder: the grinding mechanism is spiral-shaped and has a double row of teeth that guide and hold the peppercorns to guarantee a perfect grind.We recommend using dried peppercorns with a diameter of 6 mm or less, white, black or green peppercorns. Mixtures of coloured peppercorns should not contain more than 15% red (pink) peppercorns. It can also be used to grind dried coriander. The grinder is not intended for grinding salt.

Salt grinder: the grinding mechanism for salt is designed to grind coarse, dry rock salt, ideally with crystals of 4 mm or less in diameter. This grinder is not designed to grind pepper.
